    Default Long Lining Questions

Does anyone ever use the C&C rigs for long lining? I was thinking about trying it using a 1/8oz. weight since i normally long line with 2) 1/16oz. jigs. I was also thinking about coloring the weights and using tied hackle hooks tipped with minnows. I figure a little color on the hooks would help the fish see them a little better. Especially with all the rain my area has been getting lately. I thought this would give the fish a little something different to look at. Has anyone tried this or a version of?

What's wrong with the double 1/16ths? Double jigs with loop knots is a pretty darn good setup for longlining. I wouldn't want to change that unless I had to.

I tried long line trolling on Guntersville for only my second time yesterday using two 1/16 jigs and loop knots. Me and a friend caught 81 keepers and left them still biting good when we headed for home. I will definitely be doing more of this.

yeah in my opinion double jigs are the way to go if your longlining. Just make sure if your using 2 diff sizes that your heavier jig is on the bottom.

Gun, I agree! Except I always put heavier jig on top. It stays down and flutters the lighter one behind, like its wounded. I use this rig alot in the winter months at Talquin! I use a 1/8 with a 1/48 or 1/32 behind. I get the most bites on the lighter jig.
