Anything you can find cheap, all they do is hold line.
I have ordered 3-14' trolling rods and now need to select 3 reels that are economical to complete my equipment. Any suggestions?
Thanks

x2. I ended up with some Daiwa Sweepfire 2000 size spinning reels that play double duty on jigging rods and bluegill setups (less than $15/each). Tried baitcasters and didn't like them. Tried my line counter reels to precisely control depth and didn't like the way they kept rotating in the holders.
thump bar level winds work best for me. you can get em at grizzly for 25 bucks each. spin casts are a pain in the butt to me since i fish alone most of the time...

I bought 6 of the Pinnacle Tiny 20 Classics for $10 each from Sprotsman Guide. I landed a 5# Striper on one of them spooled with 6# line Wednesday. They are a good reel for the money.
Here is a link. Looks like they are selling for $12.59 today. Pinnacle Tiny 20' Classic Reel - 764593, Reels - Spinning at Sportsman's Guide
Mark 1:17 ...I will make you fishers of men
All they do is hole line, the only time I use my reel speder rigging is when Im about to go home. I use the $1.50 plastic Grizzly clicker reels. If I'm feeling particularly wealthy, I may spring for the $4 BnM version.
PM RDUCKS 123, HE HAS 8 ,NEW IN BOX FOR SALE . HE IS CHANGING TO BAITCASTERS . GREAT DEAL .
Its not true that all the reels do is "hold line" when spider rigging. With a 14 foot pole they also release line when fishing shallow which critical in netting big fish when fishing alone. An inexpensive baitcaster with a thumb bar would serve you well.
