    Default Lake Burton

    Hi Folks,
Well I am about three weeks from picking up my boat, a 16 Alumacraft Angler. I want to take the wife and son to Lake Burton for the maiden voyage. Probably put in at La Prade's Marina, so is the lake too much for my boat? As this is the first time, the wife and kid are going out on the boat, I want this trip to be uneventful....LOL

I live in Jefferson, so the other options are Lake Lanier or Lake Oconee.

Gerald, I don't think Burton is too much for your boat. I have an 18' and it is pleasant up there except during the middle of the day when it warms. Too many pleasure boaters. Early or late during the summer, other than that you should have the run of the lake. Very pretty up there in the mountains.

Can't tell you about the lake, but the food at LaPrade's good.

Thats the second part to my trip; LaPrade's food, I want the wife to enjoy herself. She is more of a pleasure boater and isn't trilled that I bought this boat.
