What do you mean by jigs in a tube? Are you saying tube jigs?

What he's talking about is :

When they came on the market a few years ago, they were individually packaged in a clear plastic tube.

Here's the only place "on-line" where they are currently available :

"littlecrappiekilla" ........You can use them the same as you would any other jighead/plastic body jig setup. But, I think they're primarily made for casting/trolling (moving), rather than for most jigging methods (holding still or slow rise/fall presentations). The unique tail design would seem to indicate that, movement thru the water, would cause the tail to vibrate. I've never purchased or used them, so I'm only speculating on that.
Give them a try and see how well they work, and report back to us, if you would please ......... luck2ya .... cp

I have a local tackle shop that has carried them for years. They never sell because they are priced too high for a plastic crappie jig. I know thats why I never bought them, especially when there are are so many good far less expensive aternatives.

I just checked the website and they want $5.29 for a pack of 5. The ones my tackle shop has are all in tiney individual tubes and are $1.50 each if I remember correctly. Thats just too much for a plastic jug that will get torn up after 5 nice fish. The website also has 15 replacement tails for the same price. Just use your own jigheads. That might not be a bad deal though its still more than it costs for a 15 pack of berkley powerbait grubs which will outfish them any day of the week.

Gapen also sells jigs in a tube. One of them is the crappie monkey discussed here a little while ago. Gapen has a nice catalog they'll send out free for the asking.

Cubby also makes the Nail-Tail which is very popular around here. It just has a straight tail a bit thinner than the main body. Under a float, the tail wiggles enticingly and it'll catch a variety of species.
