I don't blame you sir. Its very cold out there.
I worked the skinny water on the North end of Limestone bay today trying to find areas out of the wind. Never got on a pattern or even a consistent color. Most fish I caught were in 18 to 24 inches of water. I caught around 70 or 80 Crappie for the day, kept a limit.
I’d write more but I never found a pattern. I’d shake a jig at every stump, tree or laydown that I found. Some would hold a Crappie, but never more than a single. The next piece of cover would have anything.
I’m not sure if the cold front shut down the fish or if they started moving back to deeper water. With the wind I was stuck in my area and couldn’t hunt. All and all, a cold and windy day, but I caught a few and didn’t drown! I’ll post pictures tomorrow when I clean them. I decided to leave my Crappie on ice for the night, I didn’t want to further extend my stay outside!

The truth is hard to accept, so is life .
What time were you there? I'll make it a point to look for you next time. What color is kayak?
bet it was cold out on the water. It was pretty cold here in E TN (never saw 40*) with a decent breeze. Brrrrrrr.
GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
nathansmith,
My kayak is green. I didn't spend much time visible from arrowhead though. I fished the creek and extreme North end yesterday.

I a damn fool to have been on the water!
But I'm addicted to the "thump"!
So what do you do?
I stayed at home and spent some time with wife and kids, trying to build up a few points. Plus, it was COLD!!

Funny, I'm staying at home with the wife and kids today!
After cleaning the fish I’ve got a better idea of what happen yesterday. 28 of the 30 were male Crappie. I’m guessing they’ve starting to move up early looking for spawning areas. Their tails weren’t bloody or torn up so they haven’t started fanning beds yet, just looking. That should mean the females are staged on the first major drop off. I sure wished I had time to go looking today while the wind is down!
