All free The barrel was given to me by a car wash and the pump is from one of those pools that you blow up the top ring and fill it,i got tired of having to patch it all the time do to thirsty stray dogs so got rid of it and just held on to the pump.It has a changeable filter and they are real cheap it circulates the water very well and I installed the intake sreen at the bottom in hopes of catching the trash that settles the clean water side is at the very top above the water line and shoots up at the top of the drum and breaks the water up nice

Nice set up. Should keep plenty of minnows for you.

That looks like a good start for you.

You might want to think about how you'll maintain water temperature, and also consider adding a sleeve of carbon "in-line" to help keep the water clear. I've sucessfully built and maintained a system that I'm getting ready to start again for Spring. I used a working chest freezer and added a Johson Controls temperature control. Then it was just a matter of filtration & aeration.

If you'd like to check out my thread you can find it at the link below. Lots of information there. Drop me any questions you may have on that thread. Best of luck to you!!
