    Which reel do you folks recommend for a ten foot Sam Heaton rod? Thanks

    I use a Pflueger President 6725 XT. This is a good size, there are quite a few other good brands. I would suggest you go to BPS or Cabelas and try all the reels of this size. You can try 6 reels, all the same brand and one of them might be really smooth. The last one I bought at Cabelas they took off the display rack for me. The three they had in boxes were not nearly as smooth. This is important when you vertical cast.

    I have 3 sam heaton pflugers on all 3,and on my g=loomus,and my outlaws.

    a cheap light b&m plastic reel they are really light and inexpensive I like them and use them a lot if your gonna hold a 12 foot jig pole all day weight is important

    I would say pfluger but okuma has a new one out called the Helios. Im gunna buy one and try it out. it really depends what your gunna do with it. If your gunna be doen allot of casting id buy a 7ft sams.

    Depends on what your going to do with it.....I would assume vertical jig, and in that case, it really doesn't matter much, put a small lightweight spinning reel on there, more less a line holder. You can spend what you want on it, but its really on going to serve the purpose of one thing.
