    Default Rod tip color

Of those of you that have painted your rod tips for better visibility, I have two questions.

1.) What color has worked best?

2.) Have you found any paints better than others that will not make the tip too stiff and not flex as designed to flex.

I have fluoresce orange and a hot pink both are great in seeing. Paint a base white paint before painting your color will help with it sticking out better. Let it dry good before repainting, I put on 1 base coat and 2 color
All men are created equal, some work harder in the preseason.

Put the bead on there and forget about the color, even if you dont hear the bead it sticks out like a sore thumb and is easie to see than the painted rod.

x2 on the yellow and make sure you paint a white base coat first! I like the idea of the bead...I tried it but never heard it make a sound....Probably used wrong size? Rees would you mind posting what size glass bead your using...I will give it another try?

Funny thing about it is that you dont seem to hear it on a HARD bite, will hear it more on a real lite bite. G has the size pegged.

I just use Krylon flourescent yellow from Wal-Mart without a base coat. It works for me, I just clean rod tip well with denatured alcohol first. A light touch with sandpaper wouldn't hurt, but the alcohol seems to work just fine for me. I usually give it two light coats. Be sure to cover any guides/eyes where you paint before painting.

I only fish on days of the week that end with
a "Y" ...and then, only if it's raining or not.

    Default Rod tip color

Place a bead between the last two rod-eyes and it will rattle against the rod when you get a bite.
