Stained, muddy, or dark water use dark colors.......clear water use bright or lighter colors. Its just backwards from what you would think.
I have been noticing that there are lots of different colors in plastic shad, tubes and grubs. Being new to crappie fishing, is there a secret or trick as to what colors work best. Clear water = more natural..darker dinghy water = brighter colors.
Thanks for the help

Great minds think alike. I think red imitates the red of a fish' gill as it flares to comsume a bait. It also helps represent blood which is a sign of an injured prey. Like I said...It is what you have confidence in. If it is good enough for Al Linder and Bill Dance to teach, then there must be something to it. My biggest crappie came on Chartreuse and a red sickle hook G. These trash fish Bass also hit the same setup.

Grab a few dark, a few light, and you'll have everything you need. I take my 4 year daughter with me to Bass Pro, and she always picks out my baits. I usually come home with a few varitations of pink, they all catch fish.
