Default Spinning rod for casting jigs

I'm in the mood to buy a new rod! Don't really need one, but wife says okay and I'm going to strike while the iron's hot!

I've been looking at the St. Croix panfish series in either 6'9" or 7'. I'll be casting 1/16 and 3/32 jigs and jig heads with plastic. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these rods, and if so, how did they work out. AND, if anybody has any other suggestions that might help be best spend my money, I'd be grateful. Thanks group!

In that price range, I would also look at the St. Croix Premier and Temple Forks Gary Loomis series.

For a little more money, the St. Croix Avids are nice.

I would buy 2 rods at more economical price. For crappie I like a lesser module graphite rod. I like the rod to bend better. BPS microlites are nice!

look at the okuma" crappie high performance" rod . great rod for arround 75 dollars . the okoma" celilo " is a great rod for panfish for under 30 dollars . you can spend twice as much for half the quality .jmo.

Premier 6'6" light fast action, top of my want list. 2000 series Phleuger President with lots of bearings. Hold one and you'll own one. Versatile and lightweight.

Ive had high $ rods and my favorite rods are the cheap Berkly Cherrywood graphite rods for casting and dock pitching.

I like the Abu Garcia Cardinal rods.
6'6" medium. Around $40 at Walmart.

i'm partial to the st. croix premier line. in the last year, i've bought a six foot light and six foot ul, but hope to eventually pick up a couple of 6.5 lights also. i also own two ml. and two med. for walleyes and smallmouths.

The panfish series has stainless eyes, I don't know if it matters to you or not, but I don't like them. You can't see it in any of the pics online, I would go with a Premier.
