Do what you were doing when you caught all of them.
Recently started fishing again. I bought a kayak to fish local lakes. I was paddling around lake with a line out and started getting some crappie. My question is this: Should I continue to go back over same area while trolling or stop and cast back in general area of strike?
Thanks for help in advance

THE Nimrod Kid
Paddle upwind and then drift back, repeat. Throw a marker and you can drift left of it one trip, right of it another, you get the hint.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
What were you using? How deep and what speed??

if the pattern works, such as drifting with the current or wind, or you were actually paddling, then try and duplicate everything over and over until the fish quit biting, then try different things (slower/faster/different depth/lure/color) to get the bite going again.
GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
I was using a 1/16 jig head with a black with sparkles tube lure. I was paddling very slowly across lake and thought I might as well throw out a lure to see if I'd get anything. It seemed to work, but not real consistent. Didn't know if the strikes are random or where there were more crappie lurching in the the only 5 feet of water.
New to crappie fishing, but am really enjoying the different techniques and nuances of crappie fishing.
