Are you talking about the twisted wire "T"? You can buy the whole rig at just about any bait shop here on Ky. Lake.

I use the rig alot here in oklahoma I use a eagle claw "crossline swivel number 10 to tie the hooks on about 18 inches apart and I use a 10 lb main line with a heavier line tied to the swivels works good for me here in okieland this is the first I heard of a wire unless it is the old crappie rig that you can buy everywhere if not I would love to see a pic of it I also use a lindy rattlin no snagg alot for the weight 3/4 oz

I tie my own out of the line I'm using at the time. I do not like the wires and swivels. K.I.S.S. is my motto. There are some knots that work better than others. I found one here somewhere. A couple of simple loop knots work fine for most.

I use a similar rig called a drop shot rig. But, instead of using some wire contraption, I just tie on a snap swivel about 18"s above the weight and then tie on another swivel about 18"s above that. I then use and Eagle Claw 1/0 pretied snell gold aberdeen hook on the snap of the swivel. The Eagle Claw rig already has a loop that is easy to attach to the snap swivel. It has fairly stiff line, so I have a minimum of the hook line wrapping around my main line. I then use minnows on the hooks. I use pensil weights for weights and have very few snags but I fish the rig in deeper water where there isn't too many snags. I often bounce the sinker slightly off of the bottom as I slow troll. I have caught a ton of crappie on my drop shot rig.

Most Walmarts around here carry the eagle claw brand sans the sinker already pre tied. I have gone through a ton of the KY lake ones over the years. matter of fact I got my last 2 tied on the rods now. I always preferred the ones with a weight above the bottom hook but to each their own. May have to hit a shop on the way to pick up the new boat and restock!!

    Steve J-
The dropper knot from the site you recommended is the one I use.

This works great for crappie and also saltwater bottom fishing.
