    Default Reel Question

Is there a baitcaster that will cast crappie jigs?

I use baitcasters on all my crappie poles......but do not cast. I either verticle jig or slow troll. For pulling crankbaits I use Okuma line counter reels.

If you can find one, Bass Pro had a ultralite bait caster that was supposed to be good for very light line and small weights. Don't think it lasted but a couple of seasons. Marketed to Bass fishermen. All the specs I read on it at the time said it should work. It was styled after their extreme seris. Also AbuGarcia used to have a 1500 and 2500 series round reel that were good small reels for lite baits. You can find those on eBay at times but expensive.
