it is a very simple process and making tubes pictures will party will explain herself you may use different methods to speed up process if you are going to make a ton of them by putting nails in a piece of 2 x 4 and dipping the whole batch I preferred to put my nail and one by one and put it back in the holder and when I'm Rady put it in for the second color then you are ready to split the tail make sure that you spray the nails with Pam to make it easier for them to come off the nails the tubes.

Well Bob, I took the plunge and tried it today. I did not have any large nails or 2x4's laying around the house so I used phillips screwdrivers. I have to work on the cutting tails part...but at least I tried. I do not think the fish will mind. Here is how they came out.
