    Default Black Lights?

Been reading where all the catfishermen love the black lights but havent heard anything about them on here. Anyone use them or tried them? Was just thinking that they would work good for seeing at nite and not being blinded. Am thinking about getting 2 of them real soon.

    Default Black Lights

I have used one while fishing for Crappie and catfish. I like the way they make your mono light up and seem like it is 80 lb. test instead of 10. I cannot tell you which brand and type of line but it was probably Trilene. I would believe that it would not matter too much what brand of line you used although I am sure some brands will light up more then others.Another big plus in my opinion is that these lights do not attract bugs. I have a light I purchased from Bass Pro back in about 1985 or so and am pretty happy with its performance. It is a combination style, runs off of D cells or the deep cycle battery and has a white light with it if needed. Have never had to replace a bulb so can't say for certain they will be easy to find but have no information leading me to believe they would be hard to find either.

Since we make them I'll offer answers to any questions you have on them. Just ask.

We use them for crappie every time we go out at night. Great for watching floats or tight lining with the proper line. P-Line is our favorite but all brands make a line or two that flouresce. Usually titled as high visibility line or such. Stren looks like anchor rope under the light.

Jumping......I am looking for a black light like the ones from BPS but would like one that is 12 V with 2 18" black light bulbs, 1 on each side that I can mount on the center console. Not really interested in one with a white light since there are wsome of those already in the boat. Also do you have a link to your site where I can see yours? Thanks

For what you are looking for I would say to go buy one of the old Sloan doubles and remove the white bulb, then replace it with another black one. The white one is really a blacklight also just without the woods glass hiding the visible light. A replacement bulb can be bought at most home depots.

We make the led ones which cost more but never go out and are solid state. Here is a link. To a good purchase location that has all our lights. There are more and several back east.

http://www.conquistadortackle.com/Nu...EyeExteme.html also look at the Atom on the same page. Lots of bass guys are now selling their old lights as they replace with these so picking one up is pretty cheap right now.

    I'm new to all this.
    What's the black lite for?
Does it shine down into the lake?
    What would it light up?
    Fish?
    20 to 30 feet down?

Up in the boat, for things you need light to see, do you just use a flash light or some thing of that nature?
Or do you keep an overhead light on all the time?
Those lights attract bugs....is that what we want?
I just wish I could be better at fishing. Or maybe luckier!:D

If you are looking for a black light setup that has a bulb on either side ... you might want to look at the BPS lights. They come with a shielded black light and white light bulb (on one either side) ... but, a little elec tape or duct tape would work fine to cover over the top of the white bulb cover. I don't think Stan Sloan lights come with a light on both sides ... there's are both on the same side.
BPS blacklight systems run around $40 ( http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...=SearchResults ) while Stan Sloan systems start at about $83 ( http://www.backwatersonline.com/cate...?Category=1413 )

(And you can also see the Hoppys and the "Moonlite LED" system on the second link.) Just some FYI ............. luck2ya ... cp
