I moved to VA 4 yrs ago after spending 12 yrs in Katy. Used to be a stand of cane next to a bayou I would drive by. Where you at? Take I-10 west out of Houston exit Brookshire go to Patteson. Go straight thru light in Patteson (FM
1458) toward San Felipe. Watch for Neuman Rd on the right and take it.
Watch off to the sides when you come to water I cant remember exactly where it was but I used to shoe horses out that way and that was cane for
sure. Dont know if it would still be there. You can also go in the Brookshire phone directory and look up number for Carl Miller on FM 529. He is a farmer with quite abit of land not only in that area but around Hockley and Columbus as well and has lived around there all his life. He may be able to help you.
    Good luck.
