2nd annual Reelfoot trip booked

Well hoping this years trip to the Foot is better than last. The hospitality was wonderful exept from the Crappie, we arrived the last of march first of April 90+ degrees very little wind and very little action when it came to crappie even the folks that had guides were not having much luck, we managed to bring in 15-20 between the 2 of us a day fishing the pads could not buy a fish out in the basins tried evrything possible, dont get me wrong fishing 8hrs a day is better than a minute at work. This year we are arriving April 4th thursday hoping that the weather and the unseasonable weather manages to stay away. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks from Iowa!
