Possible new regulations for Alabama Rig in the future for anglers in Arkansas.

If you have figured out how to catch crappie on an Alabama Rig this could be important to you.

Reminds me of a high capacity clip debate going on right now.

That's a great questions. I wonder how many crappie anglers fish with Alabama Rigs for crappie.
What could prove to be more important is the AGFC could end up making regulations for number of lures an angler can fish with along with number of rods and that could result in affecting crappie anglers in Arkansas.

I've tried one for bass and keep getting hung ... expensive! I can't imagine ever getting a rig back to the boat when fishing around crappie cover.

I don't use them for crappie, but did buy a set up for bass although I don't bass fish. I have yet to catch a fish on it and have lost 2 $$$$$. After purchasing an All-Star rod and a baitcaster reel, I feel I am in too deep not to buy another one.. LOL I keep the rig on the front of my boat while crappie fishing, just in case I see some bass chasing shad.

The best time to fish with them is during the winter up until post spawn(bass).
To keep from losing them I use at least 50 pd braid and have a retrieve that telescopes out to 15' to get them free.
I agree with you, they cost too much to lose them.

I use 65 lb and had one break during a cast. I probably haven't cast the rig 30 times, so I will probably step up to 80-100 lb. I figure line is cheap compared to the cost of the rig.
