Default What a day on the Grand

Well I went down to Bucksaw this morning around 9am thinking there would be to much ice to launch the boat but the ice was just past the docks about 25 ft, so I busted a hole and was on my way out of the ice pack when my boat would not go into forward gear. I think my fast idle came loose inside my shifter making the motor run at to much RPM for the gears to lock in, so I took the cowling off the motor and lowered the RPM by the linkage when I wanted to shift, so I ran all day with the cowling off.
I fished the bluffs like I did last week for about two hours and did not even get a bite, then I fished the trees along the main channel and found fish from 20 to 35 fow and fished 10 to 14 ft down, they were hitting on blk/grn and blu/wht, I caught some pretty nice fish today compared to last week..
I ran into several spots of floating ice going up the lake but it was only about a half inch thick, was thinking about going tomorrow but they are calling for high winds so I think I will just work on my shifter problem tomorrow, Name: fish.jpg

Looks like a nice mess of crappie. Good luck with the engine problem.

Nice mess of fish Brian. Hopefully it's an easy fix. I may try a d get out tomorrow morning for a while. Hopefully I can find a few. It's been almost a month since I have been out and I need to feel a thump or two.

I'm sure I looked like a redneck going down the lake with my cowling off but I think I was the only one there. Went and bought the oil and filter and lower unit lube last night so I'm going to change all that while I'm working tearing apart my shifter.
