I've used a beetle spin a few times but I'm a novice at trolling. Whats the best way to gauge your trolling depth? Thanks in advance for your replies.

The best way is probably trial and error. I would try tolling at .9-1.1 mph. According to how deep you want to fish would be best accomplished by how much weight you have on the line and how far out the line is....Lots of variables....Good Luck!!

Search for "longlining" and you will get some threads that give some tips. Most of the "how to"threads are in the MS board and should find some good starting tips and info about speed/length of cast size jigs/line (6#) etc. It is a trial and error learning experience but fun. I LL 99% of the time
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
