Default new interior paint for the old tracker!

    Hey guys,

I have an old 79 tracker and the paint inside of it has seen its better days to say the least. Anyway I set my sights on redoing it. I removed both seats and the console, then I taped off the livewell since it was riveted in the boat. I then filled some screw holes in the console with bondo and primed everything with etching primer. Next I put 2 coats of rustolem satin brown followed by 2 coats of matte clear for more protection.

Also whoever did the last paint job did it without removing the console or light so I had to remove paint from the console light and the side of the boat with acetone. I even decided on adding a new steering wheel, 12V plug for a spot light or whatever else I need, and some storage containers for under the seats. Lastly I got a new decal made for the console and added a small one to the steering wheel as well.

Let me know what yall think about it. I personally love the finished product. Best this boat has looked since my dad got it back in the 90s. Now she looks as good as she fishes!

    Great job on the rehab.
Where did you get the storage containers? Got a 2000 Pro Team 165 and I would like to have something to keep water out of the stuff I put in the box. Boat looks really good, I guess you just call Tracker to order the decals? They don't have an on line catalog do they?

I did not find where I could get the decals from tracker. I ordered them from vinyl approach online. They do vinyl decals to order and have a ton of boat decals to look at as examples.

The storage containers are dish tubs for washing dishes at the sink that I found at Freds for $3.50. They were the perfect dimensions and flexible enough to bend a little and fit in under the seat without issue.

Looks good. Nice addition too. I hope you had acid in the paint to help it hold to the aluminum.

Great job, taygolf. Give me your address. I'm sending you my 2000 ProTeam tracker for you to redo, LOL!

I picked up a very abused 2000 18.5 ProTeam Tracker w/90 horse Mercury. The seats are all split and the carpet is threadbare/missing in places. I sent the seats out (5 of them) to get rebuilt/recovered. I'll have to replace all of the carpeting and the decals on the motor cowling are all faded and curled up so they'll have to be replace too. You guys have given me some good information for finding the decals. IName: boat rehab 063.jpg
