went out on the river again today, used the kolondike ramp again. kind of a raw day to fish but you make hay when the sun shines, er I think anyhow. but the fish co-operated and we wound up with 5 eaters, a throw back dink, a 17 and a 30. good times! the last pic is for you, Beagle Man, sorry no crown in the house for the pic

Good catch! Was on the river Wednesday but didn't do very well. How deep of water did you find them in?

bait of choice was shad, the bait fish in the pic is a big cumberland skipjack. was a good guess, Jim but asian carp seems to be a summertime bait for me, but it's one of the best then. we were fishing the deep holes at the tips if the wing dikes, about 35-40 ft deep. but the fish we caught were in the shallower water around the deep holes.

Do you fellas eat those big cats or do you throw them back? My dad always said the big ones aren't that good and I've not caught anything over twenty to know. To be honest I'm not sure he has either.

some do, but heck, no!! Lol! not because they aren't good, they still taste fine, if you bleed them then get all the red meat and fat off. but cleaning a hog like that is a chore and I just don't need that much meat. 10 and up go back, most days they all go back, because I'd rather eat crappies any day. also I think its good carma to give back the big-uns no matter what I am chasing.

Nice fish. I still have some mooneye frozen from this summer that I never ended up using. I may have to go give it a try one of these days coming up and give the bass a rest because they ain't been biting worth a crap anyways.
