Default Lunar Tables. Deal or no deal?

Does anyone "deal", at all, with the Lunar tables, as in; do you believe they are right, and/or; do they help your fishing?
I don't know and thought I'd ask. Is there any truth to them? Does anyone fish by them. Is it always, really, up in the "excellent",,... when the bytizawn?

Kind of like Locator. I plan my out of state fishing trips by moon phases. But hope for a good barometer.

It's a tough point to prove, if you believe....you believe. Back in 2004, I went into extra detail on my daily fishing log. I made note of what the Knight Solunar Tables showed as far as the best/worse fishing times in my time zone and how my fishing that day matched up. A lot of variables come into play such as weather, fishing strange water, etc. Doing the best I could, I tried to level the field by comparing times with times I knew to be on fish. The results were a crap shoot. Sometimes they would match up, mostly they didn't. I think it was just random chance that sometimes the best fishing hit on peak times. I would have to dig up the log, but if I remember correctly, this was based on 125 trips. Nothing scientific about this........but enough to convince me not to worry about them.

I always liked the advice an old buddy of mine gave: "I fish by the calendar. If it says Saturday.......I'm going fishing!"
