That will work
Thinking about trying to get into spider rigging. My boat is just an old fishing boat, not a fancy bass boat with seat and trolling motor on the front. My trolling motor is on the transom. I was thinking about putting a rod holder on the back with me where I run the the trolling motor and another rod holder in the front on the opposite side. Will this work?

I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Might be easier to longline straight off the rear with troller in back.
Any setup will work as long as you spread your rods out to cover water, have them in stable holders, and make sure the rods are within grabbing distance so you can set the hook when you get a bite. Fish can spit out the bait fairly easy when tightlining, if you have some rods upfront and you have to get up when you get a hit, you may lose a little more fish than you would like.....
