    Default water temps?

Here's something I've wondered about ,but haven't figured out. What temp. do crappie want to stay in ? This time of year the water temp. is so hot that only deep water is producing many fish for me.
The fish were bitting yesterday, The fish will bite tomorrow,,, today I must buy my fish

The deeper you go the cooler the fish will be until they jit the thermocline. I would guess that somewhee in the 60+ or - degree range. One lake I fish has 75 degree water temp (surface temp) right now and the crappie are holding between 12-20 feet deep. Another lake has alot of springs which keeps the water cooler and they are holding any where from 10-20 feet deep. Just a 2 foot difference but enough to make a difference.
