    Default Smithville Ramp Report 01/06/2013

Figured since we didn’t even get a nibble I could at least report lake condition.

    W Ramp Frozen
    Little Platte Frozen
Crows Creek Open but they pulled all the launch ramps; guess you could use the handicap dock???
Camp Branch Open one launch ramp in
    Fish CLOSED!!!
    Daughters’ Feet COLD!!
    Water Temp 35.4

Sunday fished 3 hours not even a tap but we did get hung on some brush a few times. Had to break ice to get into shady hollow and only the North side was open. Sailboat cove almost frozen over and some piles by Camp Branch (East Side) also covered. Had the lake to ourselves except 1 other boat; talked with them and they had been up there longer than us and they were having the same luck as us. Nice getting the kids out and beat sittin at home…..My son asked before we left if the fishin would be good and I told him we weren’t going to catch any sittin on the couch…..well it was a TIE!!!!

    Told ya Chris!!!

We need Alex to go up and spot those schools of shad for us. He can drop buoys and we'll go in and fish em. I went over to LP yesterday and saw it was pretty well frozen, glad to hear I can get in over on the other side, thanks

I was the other boat. Thanks for helping break up the ice
I don't know the lake very well. Needless to say I didn't do any good either

No problem, it was nice talking with you.

Breaking the ice was the highlight of my kids’ day! They had never done it before and both thought the sound of the ice on the bottom of boat was going to cause us to sink. They also enjoyed the sounds the ice made when I would make a wake and shut down the motor so they could listen. It annoyed the geese also!!!!

That was the most entertainment we had also. Great to see kids enjoying the outing
