I've got to get out and get some crappie fishing done. Taking the boat to the mechanic next weekend.
Put in at state park headed toward the dam looking for shad schools, found a few large schools in the cuts off the main channels- fished the cuts and didnt have much luck. Started fishing the bluffs- found a few large schools of shad. The shad were in 20-35 foot of water all the way from the bottom up to 12'. We fished 1/8 oz double rig jigs. Best color was chartruese glitter with chart tail, pink- white with pink head. All fish caught at the tops of the shad ball, we caught around 50 total. May have had 2 fish over 12 inches. Pretty windy and dreary but it was good to get out.

New goal 16" crappie by December 30
Thanks for the report hope to get out this week.
we found the fish the same way yesterday probably in the same place but they werent there today. we searched other bluffs but couldnt find the big schools of shad and feeding crappie. Wind was just wrong everywhere we went pounding the bluffs so we went to the house to eat yesterdays fish.
We fished 3-4 hours before we found this school of shad..dont know if it was the time of day or the right school--didnt have much luck mid morning. nice thing was the school didnt move they were packed into a ledge and we had to go back several times b/c nothing else was working.
Thanks for the reports guys. I hope I get a chance to go in the next few days.
nice report, congrats.
