Default Pictures of my boat (finally)

Finally went and picked it up on Sunday after church. Took the pictures with my camera phone so they are not the best. It is a 16ft Starcraft (1972). The engine is a 1989 Johnson 50hp.

Heck yeah anything that will bite. This boat thing is brand new to me so I will make some mistakes. The ONLY problem with this boat its it does leak a little but nothing major. And it does have a bilage pump. Is there a way to seal an aluminum boat without having to go through the expense of redoing the rivits?

I used to have a leaky jon boat. I took 2 hammers had a friend hold 1 hammer on one side of the rivet and i tapped the other side with the other hammer. It tighted them up and slowed the leaks down quiet alot.

I thought of that. But the boat has a nice floor in it so I would have to figure out how to remove that first. I was hoping I could just coat the bottom of the boat with something to fix it

    Glen,

I'm certainly not an expert on boats or anything like it, but my old jon was rivited and leaked some too. I took some of the marine grade silicone sealant and coated every rivet I could see and let it set up dry for a couple of days. I used that boat for another 4-5 years and never did have more than a cup full of water in the boat after that. I'm sure after some period of time the sealant would have had to be reapplied, but it did pretty good for me.

    Good luck!
