    Default Removing boat numbers

What kind of tricks have you guys used to remove old boat numbers?

I'm thinking hair dryer (it is cold out) and a plastic scrapper followed up with a WD40 scrub on a rag.
The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.

Heat Gun, plastic scraper and WD-40/or goof off will work. As long as in that order. WD-40, then heat gun, then insurance claim would get ya whole new boat to number !!

they make adhesive remover but I don't know what that would do to the finish of a boat. Don't get the heat gun too close to the boat, slowly heating is always better than going too fast.
Lets go soak a line. Pat

Run to a NAPA and get you some decal-glue remover. Works great! Just don't put it on any pin stripping.

Use hairdryer to warm up and peel off then WD to clean glue off. Be real careful with some of these chemicals as they will mess up paint. Just take your time.

When you get the decals off, you can use peanut butter on a rag to wipe/rub the adhesive off.
This works well when you want to get those pesky price labels off glass ware and hard surface items.

If you don't wanna go that route, 3M makes a Decal Remover.

The 3M stripe off wheel and a drill 3M-7498 should work great. I used it on my al boat and motor cover. It's made to take pinstripes off cars. My buddy uses them in the car business for old dealer stickers. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1357326386.836209.jpg

Hair dryer, followed by rubbing alcohol and a coat of wax.
