Default Base lake wipers vs. white perch

I could've swore I talked about this before and had a picture to go with it. Either way, EB you were right and i feel a lot less guilty now.

This is white perch and I was catching white perch on those spinners, not the newly stocked wipers they put out there. I don't feel so guilty because I wasn't putting them back in to the water. I was using them as cutbait for catfish.

I confirmed it while looking at a few online posts on the NEFGA.org website where they were talking about the flooding, renovation, and invasive species at Offutt base lake. Though i didn't see any reason why they stopped bowfishing out there, since it was the primary way folks caught carp out there. Unless of course some jerks were bowfishing carp and leaving them on the shore. It always takes a few bad apples to ruin things for everyone.

At any rate, for folks who fish at Offutt base lake or another lake with white perch and wipers, please take the time to really learn the difference between the two. Tis' a shame to kill a young wiper thinking its a garbage white perch.
