Find a local welding shop. A good welder can tig weld the crack and it should look as good as new.
A friend of ours found a small crack along a weld of a rib on his aluminum canoe that is leaking .He was thinking he might try something called P-weld. I seem to remember some of you guys mentioning a product called aluma-weld or a name something close to that for aluminum fishing boats.
What do you suggest and where to buy would be appreciated. - Roberta

Your local boat dealers will give you the name of who they use for aluminum welding.
The crack is small. They are still able to use the canoe, but he would like to try an inexpensive repair himself.

There's "paint sticks" used for patching coatings on pipelines if maybe you have some access to them. Cabelas sells them. You melt them on the aluminum with a little butane torch.

Like the others said welding would be the best. Epoxy, etc. prolly won't last.
