Knocked em on the Grand today.
Within sight of the U HWY bridge, fishing the bluffs, rod in each hand, silver glitter/char Mid South jigs on 1/8th jig heads.
Limit in under two hours. Most caught in less than a 100' span of bluff, stacked like cord wood on someone's brush.
Started the day heading to the dam, got there and the SW wind forcast turned into a NW wind. Not wanting to fight that I returned to Bucksaw. Launched in the afternoon... home with fatties by 6pm.
Caught 20 fish today. Lost two at the surface... NICE ONES. Kept a limit for a friend helping me with my basement finishing.
Had a guy in Peculiar do a tune up on the new boat. Prior to this I bested at 42 mph alone. Today, topped 50, idle fine. He replaced the impeller, lower unit lube, adjusted the upper carb, tuned the prop... $175. A STEAL!!
To say they were stuffed with eggs and shad was an understatement. Girls were all I caught today, full as ticks.
First "limit" for the new boat. Shorty was 10.5" Nice hogs today. Honey hole #23
The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.
