Default 360 and the death of si/di

with the introduction of the new humminbird 360 technology ,will this be the beginning of the end for si/di ? with humminbirds 360 degrees of coverage area compared to the old coverage area of only 6 degrees front to back for both lowrance and humminbird si/di units. doesnt this mean we are entering a new era of technology and leaving one behind? with this new technology the boat doesnt have to be moving to operate or for that matter doesnt even have to be moving to mark waypoints off the live updating 360 screen

I don't think so, SI/DI will always have a place, just like 2d.

I don't think the 360 has been around long enough to be proven .. so only time will tell.

I don't think so either. Looks like before long folks will be sitting on their couch at the house while everything is done for them. No fun for me, no thanks. My 2 cents.

Another thing is the $2000 price tag then add another $230 for a mounting bracket.

Seems like it would reduce the amount of time required to "find" the fish when they are on the move, but I go fishing to waste some time as well and avoid the "honey do/gotta do/need to do" lists. Who will be the 1st to own one??????

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Never mind I found it.......so your gonna have the SI/DI anyway .. The 360 imaging is an add-on transducer to any current Humminbird with ethernet connection. This includes the 798ci HD SI Combo, 898c SI Combo, 998c SI Combo & 1198c SI Combo.
