You can adjust sensitivity through the rod. There is a High-Med- Low digital readout built into the rod.It will alert with light and sound or light only. The technology is the same that is used in smartphones. I have a couple of videos that demo the rod as well as show it being used in the field. I knew a fishing Pole - Stanley Blozinski - many years ago.

Checked out his site and video. This product will be a hit for the catfisherman and carp guys but may be a little annoying for the spider riggers. Too sensitive for jig casting but may be good for dipping jigs. I'd be willing to field test one if they needed a crappie guy point of view.

Problems I foresee that would make me skeptical.
Accuracy of the bite detection.
Rods don't last me very long due to them breaking, getting stepped on, worn out guides, broken reel retainers, etc. It just wouldn't be worth it to me.
Like the previous poster, I think it might really be handy in certain situations like night fishing, catfishing, etc. I guess I'm saying it would have to be only a few dollars more expensive than a regular rod, and feel like I wanted before I'd consider it.

Sounds like a good idea when spider rigging. It's hard to tell which pole gets hit in a rack when you don't see the initial strike. The rack shakes, but it's hard to find the right pole when you got 8 to10 poles out.

That is a great question. The sensitivity adjustment is by way of computer controlled accelerometer technology. As an example if it is windy or there is wave action you would set it to Medium or Low Sensitivity. Only actual fish strikes will set it off in these settings. There is also a setting called tilt mode where strikes will not set it off, in this mode it will only go off from the angle change of your rod. this setting would work well for trolling and drifting as would the Low sensitivity setting.
