got out on local lake today..'gills still on bed here in N.C. wouldn't hit the beadhead but busted the poppin bug real good...had a ball!!!:D

fishdoc, Shhhhhh, don't say that so loud. There seems to be a missunderstanding that the gills hit the beds in early spring and that is it for the year.:rolleyes:
I would imagine that this last full moon will finish off the majority of the spawn.
On a trip to south Iowa last week we got some big females that still were plump with eggs though. They were all out deeper . Grizzly Jig "Water Flea" tipped with 2 or 3 wax worms 7 1/2' deep over 12 ft. of water brought them to hand.
We spent some time out in the float tubes and got some bigguns at same depth in tree tops over 20 to 30 foot of water . Tight lines all. Mike
