I will watch this with interest.
I'm getting ready to book a trip this week but have no idea where to stay, what's decent and what's not. I see lots of these places are pricey, we wanted to stay on the lake for my young son. Is Holiday Hills Resort any good, Turtle Creek? Any help is appreciated because we're getting ready to pull the trigger and put it on the books for May...redear time!
I will watch this with interest.
Prizor Point K.O.A. is very nice and reasonable rate wise. Cabins,RV and tent camping. Nice marina and bait shop. Located near the canal that cuts through to Ky Lake also. If you go there be sure to go to Patti's Restaurant also!!!!!

Right now it's between Prizer Point Marina and Buzzard Rock Marina...I need to call Prizer Point in the morning.
Give chad web a call at green turtle bay I have been going there for years!! Here is his email tell him Nate Noblitt sent you I go every May vary good people! [email protected]
Indy,
Thanks for that, I knew you had caught some dandy shellcrackers down there through the years because of your pictures on this site. I actually booked our trip for Buzzard Rock Marina over on Poplar Creek, not far from where you stay.
Do you jump around from bay to bay or just fish Green Turtle? Poplar Creek looks to be fairly good size, hopefully I can catch em in the there without having to jump bays. Kuttawa Bay is close by, I might try that if I need to. Green Turtle looks to be right by the dam??
When you going, May??
Locator,
I went ahead and booked it for May 5-10, so we'll be leaving on a Sunday, day after Derby. I am thinking of rescheduling it to May 12-17th, but the New Moon falls on May 8th so I kind of like those dates. For now, it's May 5-10th and I'm hoping to nail some hog crackers and a few nice crappie if they're still around. You going down in May??
I don't like my boat situation, not crazy about taking the one I got down there but it might have to do. Going to scramble for a decent motor too, pretty much flying by the seat of my pants on this trip because it's our first trip down there. Looking to make it an annual trip, fishing up here has gotten kind of so-so and these lakes aren't far away considering they're trophy lakes.
We have been talking about going down on the full moon last week of April. Your boat will be fine if you stay in the creeks, the main lake gets pretty tough at times. As soon as you bring in one of those swamp donkey ears, you won't be thinking about crappie.
