Default Quickie, cheap 2 piece rod holder........

Cabin fever done set in, fooling around tonight and tried something new, and it works great, I made the rod holders by using pony beads and string, now you can make your own with just one rubber band and one pony bead and they hold good...... wife says rubber band may not last long time, but guess I will see...... sure easy to make and el-cheap-o....... had trouble with the pony bead and sting not holding the rear seated rods good enough, they work okay on the longer handle rods, but not the rear seated, the rubber band holds much better.....simply take a 3 1/2" x 1/4" rubber band,(at least a 1/4" wide one) and feed it through one pony bead and tie one end in a knot...... just don't slide the pony bead off when taking off........I had to use a small rod to push the rubber band through......

Great thinking. Should work fine until the band gets dry but sure will not be very expensive to replace. You have to much time on your hands with out the cab on your boat.

another good idea is to use old bike tires. Just cut them about a inch wide and they fit snug and last a long time, plus with the different sizes they come in you can always find the right size to fit your rod. .
