Default Bubba Blade For Filleting Crappie

One of the better crappie guides in Texas posted this video showing the use of the Bubba Blade for filleting. He makes it look easy. Anyone else using one?

I've never tried a big blade like that on Crappie but used a similar knife when I did some commercial fishing back in late 60's. When you get the hang of it you can go through them just like he does in that video. If I tried talking and cleaning like he was I'd be missing a finger right quick.

Looks interesting. I have often looked at those, but have never pulled the trigger.

I have not used one of those, but have used the same Buck knife for everything from crappie to deer since 1976.

I do not think I could keep it sharp enough after it had been used a couple of times.

I like ribmeat, so fillet knife for me. Looks like a scimitar styled knife which I like for cutting up game.

Yeah, I agree. Growing up, we used to go to the coast and I remember guys at the cleaning stations cleaning fish with butcher knifes and they were fast (and good) at it. Not sure you need a high priced knife to do the job.
