Default Crappie - Seasonal Fishing Habits and Tips? [Trolling]

Sorry if this is already post somewhere but I was thinking it would be an amazingly informative post if we could get a general thread on where to fish during each season.

For newbies like me, I've just invested into my first big purchase towards devoted crappie fishing. I have this amazing fish finder but have no idea on where I should be on the lake in each season. There are some basics, like pre-spawn, spawn, and entering winter but what about everything in-between?

This thread definitely wouldn't be about asking for a honey hole, but would really help for the fishermen who find themselves fishing 40ft of water in the spring haha.

So, any tips would definitely be appreciated.

A good format would be something like this.

    Pre-Spawn Trolling

    • [User-X's tip]
    • Water temp is around [X] which mean the crappie are doing [x].
    • Look for [x] bait fish. Search for these around [X-Spot on the lake]
    • Crappie are moving to shallower water, fishing 5-15 feet is ideal. Off channels or the opening of creeks.
    • Using [X] lure, or [X] bait tend to do good for me.

    • [User-Y's tip]

I'll update the thread and add it all in the original post, so others can view all the tips

I am no troller but hope to do some, and have done a little , I think he has presented a good question and hope some of you will respond,I like to read what you say also, may do more just for a change at times. No boasting just give us what works in your area and season, depth, how, and why you pick the area you fish, also s a deep lake or a shallow one

Here is good general info of where to find crappie based on the seasonal water temps....

There easily could other variables involved like cold fronts, excessive flooding, etc...but crappie's general seasonal patterns are based mostly on the water temp...
