For some reason the box for replying to any private messages is grayed out? So what did I do?

I would have in the first place, but hence my problem, I am unable to send them the box is grayed out and I am unable to type anything. I can type a subject, just not in the body.

I checked your profile. Everything looks fine.

I'm going to take a guess that you are using Internet Explorer. There have been instances reported where IE can't handle the Editor in vBulletin. It likely only a specific release of it or maintenance level.

Anyway, get another browser and see if it works. Try Chrome, Safari, Firefox. I use IE as little as possible. Partly because it's also the most targeted browser of hackers.

Mine does the same thing, with IE. Click on the bottom right corner of the response box, and drag. It will take the gray out, and allow you to type.

To the left is : My settings.
Go down under : My account.
Click on general settings.
Go down to miscellaneous options.
Look at your : message editor interface.

I switched mine to enhance interface. Been fine since.
