    Default Floor Options?

I value c dot c members opinions. I am looking at a new G3 boat and am trying to decide, Carpet? or Vinyl Floor?

I value everyones opinion and Thanks in advance for posting!

I've had carpet and recently rebuilt/added decks and flooring to my boat with vinyl. I really like and prefer the vinyl. One thing I like is you can just wash it down with water hose, and if needed, a scrub brush then wait for the water left on the surface to dry. Kinda like mopping a floor in the house.

I only fish on days of the week that end with
a "Y" ...and then, only if it's raining or not.

Have carpet and wish I had vinyl. Same reason as dandeman. Carpet gets wet takes 3/4 days to dry.

My deepV actually has both, carpet on the casting decks and vinyl on the main floor. The vinyl is easy to clean and dries much faster than carpet.

For you guys that have the vinyl, how the footing in cold/freezing temps? I can see it getting slippery, which is why I've always stayed with carpet.

Good Question! I'd like to know the answer to that also.

I have vinyl in my Lund and like it. When I first used it in freezing temps I was rather concerned and worried about it be very slick when fishing in below freezing conditions. Surprisingly it really hasn't been that much of a problem for me and I haven't found myself being spooked by slipping on ice with the vinyl flooring in the boat. Since I do often fish by myself in freezing conditions I really slow down making very careful and deliberate movements while on the water. The drip from caught fish brought into the boat will ice up on the floor but apparently and perhaps fortunately I'm not catching the numbers of fish that a good fisher might catch where the drip from all the fish would really cause a ice rink on the boat floor.

I was concerned about the vinyl being slippery after getting wet but it hasn't been a problem. The advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

Vinyl for sure. I have it in my war eagle and it doesn't get slick because of the texture.

We debated about the vinyl when we got our war eagle, but the carpet won out. We had some concerns about how slippery it would be in wet/cold conditions and also figured the carpet would muffle the sound a little more when we drop stuff. Plus, you don't see screw holes in carpet if you move mounting bases/brackets.
