Let me start with being bummed, they just pulled out in their car headed back to Ft. Campbell and soon son will be back in Iraq.
Now for the good part!
Well the wife and I had a great week with my son and his family here (even though it rained a good bit this week. We didn't get to fish but a really short time one day, but the grandkids did manage to catch a few. Here they are with a few nice ones (one 17" and one 16") and a couple of smaller ones. Shame my truck got in the way of the 16" that the grandson is holding and the 17" my grand daughter is holding she caught.

my thoughts and prayers go with you and your son, i wish him GODSPEED and a safe, quick return.. also very nice fish and grandkids
Nice to see that you did get sometime to spend out on the water with you grandkids. Tell your son that I hope he is safe and that he gets home soon.

Skip, the next time you correspond with your son tell him he has the support of the crappie.com members and that we appreciate his service and dedication. I think all the members will agree with this post!!!
Cute grandkids, Skip, it's a great thing to see the young'uns outdoors and having a good time. They will always remember you taking them fishing!

Skip i could'nt have said it better than Bill, i agree 100%. I hope and pray all our servicemen and women come home soon, safe and sound to their families...izzy
Thanks to all of you and I do appreciate the support people here give our troops including my son. Don't know if I told the story, but....after 9/11 he joined and was with the 3rd. ID when they took the airport in Baghdad. After his return he went to selection to get in the Special Forces and made it through. Then all the extra training and just got his Green Beret (at 38 years old which is no small feat) a couple of months back. So this will be his first deployment with SF.
I will be sure to tell him of the support of each and every one of you probably either tonight after he gets home or tomorrow! He will say to tell you thank you and we both do!
Great pictures Skip. Your son will be ok. My brother in law is on his way back to Iraq in October for his third trip.
Nice pic's of the grandkids. Hope they get the fishing bug and can continue the heratige.
Best wishes to your son and a safe and happy return home.
Our prayers are with you.

You have good reason to be proud of your son. He will be in our thought and prayers, along with you and his family.
