    Cool Capps and Coleman rigs

I was wondering how everyone pegs the weight on their C&C rigs. I dont really like using toothpicks in fear of damaging the light line(4 or 6lb.) that i normally use. Does anyone use rubber core weights? I'd appreciate any tips!

I run the line through my egg sinker three times.

I thought they just ran the line through the weight 3 or 4 times to hold in place. That is how I do mine.

I don't peg mine I tie a #10 swivel with a small plastic bead on the bottom of my main dropper line and let the weight slide free. Then a 8in dropper off that swivel. I feel like if the fish grabs the hook and goes up it will feel less resistance from the weight. Just me I guess. A lot of guys tie a swivel on the top with first dropper off that then come down 18 in or so and thread the line 3 or 4 times to hold the weight in place then go down what ever distance you like and tie on bottom hook. It works fine for lots of folks but I feel the same way about line wrapped around weight as you do about tooth picks.

I guess I don't understand why you would use such lite line on your rigs. I always use 12lb on my reels and on my rigs. I take some sort of round punch an stick in the end of my weights to make sure they are smooth so when I run my line thru it is smooth.

This is all you need to do even with 4-6lb line they won't move.
