    Default Baked crapie nibbles??

I kno folks put nibbles out to harden a little. I've wondered if y'all do what I do. I heat the oven to 300. Spread the nibbles on a cookie sheet. Turn the oven off and put the nibbles in for about 5 min. Just check em till they're right. Try to make em hard enough to be tough but not so hard that they're hard to hook. BTW, I try to do it when my wife's gone. lol

Some wives are real picky about what goes in their oven!

Ha! Good one. My wife hates when I make shad side's for catfish. I'll have to try this one.

Thing is, I can't smell it. My wife can. 30 min with the kitchen window open and I'm home free.

Free bird I found a toaster oven at Freds the other day for 20.00. My issue was powder painted jigs. No smell or contamination and still a No,No

I buy old toaster ovens at yard sales, flea markets or goodwill. Usually less than $10.

I've wanted to try threading them on a wire and heating them a little so I could feed them on a hook without them falling off on a cast.

I've also thought about cooking them into my boiled doughball recipe that makes a much tougher dough.

i smear one on the inside of the lid, then smear some on the jig. all you need is a tiny bit to smell good to them. a jar will last a couple years that way.

I cure them on a piece of window screen out in the backyard over a couple sunny afternoons. It doesn't take long to toughen them up and I don't get glitter all over the oven.

I've seen that the faster the nibbles dissolve, the more scent you're putting in the water and the more bites you get. A new jar of nibbles will work you to death replacing them though. I usually just go with the soft nibbles and fuss a lot. Lol
