Went out yesterday, caught two 10 inchers right away on some paddletail shad in the shallows, then the bite quit for hours till my dad caught a couple late that evening over 20 feet of water. Where are the little buggers most likely to be this time of year on the northern tier of states? One last thing, is there any deep dark secret about keeping the perch from biting so much, like maybe a scent that the perch don't like and doesn't bother the crappie?
