    Unhappy Offseason summertime blues

Going out on the Big Ditch Friday morning. I did "fair" last time I was out on the Big Ditch but that was at the north ramp in the river restoration area. Back to early morning or late evening fishing only. Too hot the rest of the time for the fish (and me too ).

Anybody doing any good? What's biting or is the heat too much right now?

Not too good today on the Big Ditch (Kissimmee River). Only a few small gills and a stumpknocker on foam pushers, crease flies, and a muddler minnow. Better small than not at all I guess. They just weren't in the mood to come up to the surface and play while drifting in my fishing buddy's motorized canoe. They weren't biting much better subsurface either. Just one of those hot summer days I guess. Hopefully it will be better next time out.

    Nice try Robert,
I think the hot weather has all but shut the crappie fishing down.
I went out a couple weeks ago and got two med sized ones.

Yeah I know how bad the Speck fishing is during Summer. I probably won't even try specifically for Specks until Fall. Last time I fished Lake Istokpoga one morning, I only saw one spider rig boat leaving the South ramp that had been night fishing. I doubt he did much good on the Specks. I figure I might be able to get some Summertime Shellcrackers and Bluegill though but it will most likely be either early or late in the day :D.
