    Default Sundays catch

These are the ones we brought home on Sunday. We found the school on Sat. but didn't keep any that day. I know the date is off by one day but this was the 25th.

    Hope this shows,

Anyhow what was really unusual is these fish were full of eggs. Our crappie spawn in April or May at the latest.

We had intensions of going back the next day for more but after filleting them I deceided better. I don't like fishing for spawners no matter what species it is.

Fish were from 7 to 8 inches, nothing to brag about as this lake's average is only 8 in. ......They sure did taste good though

Good job! Also, if those fish were schooling, I would think they are done spawning. Those eggs may be leftovers. If there are a lot of fish that size, thinning them out will only help. Go get some more....

    Ceb,
Thats what I was originaly thinking. I thought they were done spawning. But they were in 3 to 6 feet of water around cabbage. The water was clear and I'm guessin' under these conditions they should have been much deeper.
Water temp was about 75 degrees and has been that or more for a month or better. Maybe with the weather wev'e been having lately, goofed up there spawn and they were trying again.
Never seen this happen before, But there's a first time for everything.
