I don't know how far this chilly weather has gone down south from here. But it has been fairly seasonable to spell of fairly cool days around here in eastern Nebraska, colder out west where they have been getting snow. Some guy told me the water was still warm around 70 degrees. I think he was mistaken, haha. I have felt that water, and it seems more like it is between 50 - 55 degrees. Most of the crappie and bass have been actively feeding and have felt cold to the touch. Some bluegill a few weeks ago, but they were warm and difficult to catch. Now you can't seem to find the bluegill, the bigger crappie are gone, only a few small ones remain around cover and have been difficult to catch. Bass still seem to biting regularly.

I thought catfishing would pick up too, but they have been quiet as well. So i have packed it in for the year and will wait for spring.
