Got a chance to hit Cataract after school yesterday. I really just wanted to get my boat out and make sure it ran since it had been sitting in the garage since the start of football season. The water temp was right at 63 degrees and the water clarity was good. We mostly spider rigged minnows around a few of my favorite points with stumps on them. Most fish were caught in the 12-15 foot range fishing about 11 feet down. The fish were concentrated and would bite pretty good when you stayed right over the top of them. Huge balls of shad were every where and many of the bigger fish were full of them. We managed about 20 keepers in the 9 1/2 to 11 inch range. All fish were fat and healthy. We caught a few throwing curly tail jigs but they seemed to prefer minnows. Boat ran great and although we did get a shower or two it was a very nice trip. Only 4 other trailers in the park lot. Enjoy the nice weather the next couple of days.
