Heading to california

All being well, this coming january and february will be spent in your warm climate. January is in palm desert, and february is in newport beach. Am a nut fisherman, and am interested if there is any freshwater fishing that is open and accessible at that time of the year? Have done a tiny bit of fishing the last couple of years in the desert, but just fooling around. Do a great deal of saltwater on the coast, but this is the first time in the newport area. I am bringing my belly tube with me for the first time, and would love a chance to use it in freshwater as well as the time i will be spending in newport bay. Will appreciate any advise you can supply.

Well January everything is deep, and feb to until the last
Two weeks or soooo,,,, Perris has fish and so does el cap
Around this time of year...tell me when your down this way
